SHANNON LEE VIEN
Date of Passing: Feb 12, 2009
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHANNON LEE VIEN Shannon Lee Vien passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009, peacefully, with her family by her side at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba, much too soon just past her 37th birthday. Shannon battled cancer with grace, dignity, hope, and strength. She was an inspiration to not only her family, but to all who knew and loved her. Shannon will be so missed by her son Marcel, her sister Tracey, her mother Bev, her father Gary (Pam), Uncle Nelson, Aunts Pam (Andre) and Gail as well as numerous cousins. Also left to mourn her passing is her boyfriend Mitch Connelly and the entire Connelly family who thought of her as one of their own, many friends, fellow ball team members and coworkers. She was predeceased by her grandparents Fred and Agnes Vien, Bill and Ann Kozusko, and Aunt Sylvia. Shannon brought joy and laughter into the lives of everyone she met. She lived her life to the fullest and was determined to help everyone create wonderful memories of her time with us, especially with her little boy Marcel. She loved her Girls Nights with her special friends and looked forward all year long to her Dauphin Country Fest weekend. Shannon took great delight in dressing up for Halloween or any other fun occasion that arose. She made the most of the past year and made it so special for everyone around her. Her strength and courage in her battle and her concern for those who loved her was truly amazing. We'd like to thank Shauna and staff at Health Sciences Centre for their compassion and kindness. We would especially like to extend our appreciation to her long time employer Manrex Ltd, for their wonderful support throughout her illness and for establishing Marcel's education fund. A service and celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). In keeping with Shannon's wishes, donations to The Marcel Connelly Education Fund would be most gratefully accepted in lieu of flowers. Donations can be forwarded to Tracey Vien, Box 6, Grp 27, RR2, St. Anne, MB, R5H 1R2. GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 982-7550
