BUD (ROBERT GEORGE) WILSON September 26, 1921 - February 14, 2009 What is a man That man is a success who has loved well, laughed often and loved much Who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children Who has filled his niche and accomplished his task Who leaves the world better than he found it, whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul Who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had. Suddenly on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at the Poseidon Care Centre, with his family by his side, Bud (Robert George) Wilson peacefully began his final journey. He leaves behind his best friend and soul mate of 65 years, Doris to continue on without him. He will be missed by his three children, their spouses and his grandchildren, David and Liz Wilson, their children, Mitchell, Catherine and Erin and their children, Gordon and Dianne Wilson, and their son, Daniel and Barb and Ken Croft and their son, Jeffrey Wilson Croft. He will be missed by all who knew him. Bud was born in Winnipeg on September 26, 1921 to George and Lillian Wilson, he graduated from Kelvin High School, and joined the Royal Canadian Army. He was stationed in England where he met and married the love of his life, Doris. He brought Doris home to Winnipeg and joined the Winnipeg Police Force, where he remained for over 30 years. He became a snow-bird and retired to Arizona, moved to Vancouver and finally moved back to Winnipeg to complete the circle of life. Bud lived an honourable and rewarding life and will be remembered for his laughter, his honesty and his love for his wife and family. There was none better, Dad! The family would like to thank the staff at the Poseidon Care Centre for their kindness and caring for Doris in this time of sorrow. At Bud's request, there will be no service but remember him with a smile and a laugh, he would like it that way.
