MARIA FUNK On Monday, February 16, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. Maria Funk went to be with her Lord at the age of 64 years. She was born on January 18, 1945 to Johan and Helena Harder at Colonia Menno in Paraguay, South America and finished her earthly journey at Victoria Hospital. Mom was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved the Lord and touched the lives of many. Mom cherished her family, adored her grandchildren, and held her friends dear. Maria is survived by her husband of 43 years Wilhelm and their children Alvin and wife Eileen, Herman, Arthur, Lina and husband Chester. Maria's seven grandchildren Rachel, James, Rebecca and Joshua Funk; and Samuel, Jonathan and Alyssa Braun will remember Grandma with many blessed memories. Mom is also survived by two sisters living in Manitoba, one in Alberta and one brother in Paraguay. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor John Klassen officiating. The funeral service will be held Friday, February 20 at the Niverville Mennonite Church, 116 Third Avenue South, Niverville at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Jacob Funk officiating. Interment will follow the service at Hespeler Cemetery, just southwest of Niverville.
