GILBERT TRUDEL September 15, 1931 - February 17, 2009 Our most precious father and pépère died peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at the age of 77 years. Gilbert was predeceased by his loving wife, Hélène (née Péloquin) in 2000 after 48 years of marriage. He will be sadly missed by their ten children, Gérald (Nicole), Nicole (Ron) Clement, Ginette Fontaine (Ron Amann), Micheline Trudel (Mark Orieux), Martial (Karen Thomas), all of Winnipeg, Alain (Elaine) and Brigitte (Jacques) Roy of St. Adolphe, Marc (Léonne), Mona (Allen) Laszchuk, and Rachelle (Russ) Desrosiers of St. Malo; 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered by his remaining seven brothers and three sisters as well as by numerous extended family members. Gilbert was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Cléophée Trudel; his two brothers, Roger and Jean; his sister-in-law Léona and his brother-in-law, Paul St. Goddard. Gilbert was born on September 15, 1931 in St. Malo, Manitoba where he was raised and lived his entire life. He loved hunting and fishing and spent many hours retelling tales of his youth. He attended his grandchildren's hockey games and enjoyed spending time with each one of them. He was intensely proud of their accomplishments. In our sorrow, we will find comfort and peace in our memories. To honour Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father Marcel Carrière will be held at the St. Malo Roman Catholic Church in St. Malo, Manitoba on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Prayer service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the St. Malo Parish Cemetery.
