OLIVIA VICENTE It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Olivia Vicente. Olivia passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on February 19, 2009 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 58. Olivia leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 36 years Paulo; her children, Susana (Jamie), Frank (Sandra) and Brian; grand-children, Sabrina, Lilianna, Selena, Britney, Janessa; her brothers, Duarte, and Victor; sisters, Lucy, Judite and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Luis and Irene, brothers Raul, Gabriel, and Duarte. Olivia married the love of her life, Paulo in 1972 in Sao Miguel, Acores. In 1974 they and their first child immigrated to Canada to better their lives and the future of their children. She started working at Old Dutch Chips when she was young and worked very hard for 34 years, where she will be missed. Not only was Olivia a remarkable wife, mother, and grandmother, but she provided us all with the courage to be strong, to be proud of our heritage and never give up what we believe in. She gave us the gifts of family, honour, strength, duty, love and laughter. The family would like to thank the entire staff of GA-5 of the Health Sciences Centre for their personal care of Olivia, and to all the friends who came to comfort her. Prayers will be held on Friday, February 20 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. with Very Rev. José Eduardo Medeiros, V. F. officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
