Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHANN (JOHN) FRIESEN It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of John Friesen on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at the Regina Saskatchewan Hospital at the age of 77 years. John was born September 22, 1931 in Halbstadt, MB to John G. and Helen Friesen. He lived in Horndean, MB, Brandon, MB, Malakwa and Sicamous, BC, and Rush Lake, Saskatchewan. John was predeceased by his daughter Patsy Miller, son-in-law Darcy Myers, parents John and Helen Friesen, brother Eddy and John's ex-wife Norma. John will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Linda Myers and Laurie (Dave) Anderson and their children: Reid, Elicia, Kyle and Victoria, and son-in-law Danny Miller and children Kelsey, Reese and Riley. Also left to mourn his passing are brother Abe (Ann) Friesen, sister Helen (Nic) Fedorowich, children Craig (Barb and son Kardy), Jamie (Mo) and Sean (Maria and children Nic and Sarah) and sister Eileen (Abe) Friesen and son Chris. He also leaves behind one aunt Katharine Friesen and many cousins, nephews and extended family, as well as special friends Ken (Mary) Epp who were John's main caregivers the last five years. The funeral service was held at Knox United Church, Oakville, MB on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Chuck Ross officiated. Interment followed at the Oakville Cemetery. Family and friends gathered for a reception at Silver Threads in Oakville. Pallbearers were Danny Miller, Dave Anderson, Craig Fedorowich, Jamie Fedorowich, Sean Fedorowich and Chris Friesen. Honorary pallbearers were Ken and Mary Epp and Ralph Bieber. Special thanks to Dr. Cassette at Herbert, Saskatchewan and his special staff of nurses, public health nurses and home care personnel.
