MARY SMALE (nee PANCHUK) It is with deep sadness that our mother Mary Smale (nee Panchuk) passed away on February 17, 2009. She is survived by her daughter Nadia Bjorklund (Rod), Nancy Kane (Dave), her niece Wendy Zimmerman (Bob) and a nephew Bill Panchuk of Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is also survived by three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three great-great- grandchildren. Mary was born in Arbakka, Manitoba (near Vita) on June 25, 1912. She moved to Winnipeg with her family. She worked in Winnipeg where she met her husband Bill Smale who predeceased her in 1990. Mary worked as a caterer and knew many of the well-known Winnipeg families. She and her husband enjoyed travelling and enjoyed many happy trips. Mary was a kind and loving lady loved by all who knew her. She will be sadly missed but is at peace. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Vista Park Lodge for their compassionate care while she was a resident there. Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 23, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (South of the Royal Canadian Mint). There will be a gathering of family and friends following the service in the reception centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mary to the Children's Wish Foundation of Manitoba. GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 982-7550
