She was predeceased by her husband George, her father Walter Budz and mother Antonina Budz, brother Frank Budz, sister Lena Zenchyshen, sister Jean Zegalski, and brothers-in-law, Peter Zenchyshen and Frank Kaskiw. Mom was born on August 12, 1922 in Marco, Manitoba and was raised in the area. Mom moved to Winnipeg and worked for Jacob Crowley and then Tan-Jay for 27 years until her retirement. Being very active as a member of Christ the King Church, Mom sewed vestments, altar cloths, funeral palls and baptismal garments, always taking pride in her labour of love. She also acted as a communion minister and she visited the sick. Another love of hers was being an associate member of the Ursuline Order of Sisters. Other active pursuits of Mom's were the CWL and the Red River Seniors. Our Mom was very proud of her family and nothing made her happier than to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grand-children. Special thanks to Dr. Essa and the nursing staff at the Pine Falls Health Complex for the excellent care they gave to Mom. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 23, 2009 at Christ The King Roman Catholic Church, 847 St. Mary's Rd. Rev. Fr. R. Pasinato presiding. Interment to follow the service at the St. Vital Cemetery, 236 River Road. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Mom's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9. May Christ, who called you take you to Himself and may angels lead you to Abraham's side .
