ELEANOR DOREEN HIGGINS Doreen passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Lions Personal Care Centre, Winnipeg, MB at the age of 82. Doreen was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB, where she attended Laura Secord School and Gordon Bell High School. After high school she attended Success Business College. After graduation she first worked for Ryan Insurance Agency and then the Government of Canada until her retirement. Doreen was predeceased by her father Harry Higgins, mother Ruby Higgins, sister Catherine McKee and nephew William McKee. Doreen will be fondly remembered by her sister Marilyn (Gordon) Bowman, her niece Sharon (Scott) Laird, her nephew Garth (Wendy) Bowman, her niece Diane (Percy) Bacha and Shirley Bowman, niece by marriage. Also her grand nephews and grand nieces Sean and Zoe Laird, Allison and Laura Bowman and Jassi Bacha. She will be missed by all of us and her friends. Our grateful thanks to the Third Floor staff for their wonderful care and compassion. Cremation has taken place as per Doreen's wishes. There will be no service or flowers by request. Interment will be in the family plot at Elmwood Cemetery.
