EDWARD NORMAN GERLITZ Peacefully on February 17, 2009, Ed passed away at Victoria General Hospital at the age of 79. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joy. He is also survived by his sister Donna McNeil (Heath) and his nephew Grant (Karin) and his niece Patricia Morgan and their children, all of Calgary. He had many dear cousins who kept in close touch over the years. Ed was born in Alberta and spent his youth in the oil fields and playing semi pro hockey in the U.S. With his marriage to Joy, he moved to Winnipeg and operated a service station for a number of years. Later he worked for the Manitoba Flood Board and he retired from Winnipeg Transit. Ed loved golf and traveling and his winters in Arizona were greatly enjoyed.
