ETHEL WINNIFRED MILNE (nee FERRIS) On Thursday, February 5, 2009, Ethel passed away peacefully at the West Park Manor at the age of 93 years. Remaining to cherish Ethel's memory are her daughter Doreen (Barrie) Stocks and their children Bradley, Bruce, and Debra; her son Ivan (Jody) Milne and their children Ian and Adam; and her brother Lloyd. Ethel was predeceased by her husband Ivor (1995); her son Robert (2008); her three sisters; and her brother Harold. Ethel was born in Ontario, raised and educated in Sperling, Manitoba and was married to Ivor Milne in 1939. They farmed in the Homewood area until 1950, when they moved to Carman, Manitoba. They operated the family business until 1964, and then moved to Winnipeg where Ethel was employed in retail sales until retirement from Sears in 1980. Ethel devoted extra efforts and many talents to the Carman Kinettes, Flying Farmers, Antique Car Club, and the Kirkfield United Church Ladies Auxiliary. Ethel treasured her home and family. She was a caring and compassionate wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be truly missed by all whose lives she touched. In compliance with Ethel's wishes, a memorial service and interment will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations on Ethel's behalf may be made to a charity of your choice.
