MARY ZADOROZNY Peacefully, on Thursday, February 19,2009 at Maples Personal Care Home, Mary Zadorozny, aged 95 years. Mary came to Canada at the age of 17 and lived with her Uncle John in Winnipeg where she cared for his children Alice and William. Mary married Michael Zadorozny on July 18, 1935. Later in life she owned and operated Carnation Florists. In childhood she made paper flower garland for her family ,which became her only training and showed off her natural talent. Mary worked very hard and was devoted to her customers. She was forced to close the shop due to failing eyesight. Before she lost her sight Mary learned to drive a car at age 69. She remained otherwise healthy not suffering from any other illnesses and was very proud of her grandchildren and their many accomplishments. Mary is survived by two daughters, Helen (Paul) Bembenek, children Michael (Gail) ,their children Rhiannon and Niklas; Steven (Pamela) their children Amanda and Daniel; Timothy; Lynne (partner Robert), their children Kristen and Michael; Christopher; daughter Gloria (Bernard) Blazeiko, children Suzanne (David) Schoettle, their children Mitchell, Jessica, Ashley, and Jordan; Robert; Donald; Gordon (Leanne); Meredith ,her son Zachary; Elizabeth; Michael (Sandra). She is also survived by three sisters in Ukraine. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband Michael, one sister and three brothers. Prayers will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 23 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 24 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Burrin Ave. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be son-in-law Paul Bembenek, grandsons Timothy, and Christopher Bembenek, Michael, Robert, and Gordon Blazeiko. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons Steven Bembenek, and Donald Blazeiko. Sincere appreciation to staff at Maples Personal Care Home for their kindness and compassion shown to Mary.
