CHRISTOPHER HAROLD PATSON June 6, 1967 - February 21, 2009 On February 21, 2009, at Riverview Health Centre, Chris's courageous two and one half year struggle with a rare form of cancer came to a peaceful end. He will be dearly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Michele and children, Caitlyn and Tristan; parents, Harold and Zonia; brother Mark (Annette) and many family and friends who supported him during his illness. He was predeceased by his grandmother Anne and uncle Paul. Chris was employed in supervisory roles with Palliser Furniture and then Craft Line Countertops. He was extremely dedicated and had a very strong work ethic, never missing a day's work, even during the initial stages of his disease. Always caring and helpful with his fellow employees, Chris left a positive impact wherever he worked. Chris was a very private man, who with his welcoming smile, sparkling eyes and patient manner put everyone at ease. He was passionate about being a devoted dad, spending many hours involved in his children's activities and interests. A natural athlete, Chris possessed great skill with a soccer ball and to the envy of his friends on the golf course, always struck his ball straight and true. He especially enjoyed NFL football and was able to recently fulfill a life-dream of attending an NFL game. For Chris each day was a gift; and with his positive attitude and sincere concern for those around him he turned a frightening illness into a source of inspiration to live, love and share. Chris would like to thank his sister-in-law Debbie and mother-in-law Anne for their assistance with caring for his children while Michele spent many nights at his side. The Rock Star would like to give special thanks to Dr. Gary Harding of CancerCare Manitoba. Dr. Harding provided outstanding treatment and invested many hours of his personal time in accompanying Chris along his journey. Chris and his family are also grateful to the staff at Riverview Health Centre (3 east) for their excellent care. Special thanks to Nurse Ashley. Prayers will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Wednesday, February 25 at 7:00 p.m. with funeral services to follow on Thursday, February 26 at 10:00 a.m. at the same address. Flowers gratefully declined. As per Chris's request, any cheques of donation can be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation to specifically improve the care of lung cancer patients and research. Our condolences go out to all who knew and loved Chris. I remember the first time I met him at Michelle's sister's wedding; although early in their relationship one could tell they were very much in love, and meant for each other. A truly devoted family man, who will be dearly missed. All our love and prayers; Craig, Kris, Kalista and Rory Antoniuk Calgary, Alberta - Posted by: Craig Antoniuk (Family) on: Feb 25, 2009

I am deeply sadened by the passing of Chris Patson. Chris always had a way with people. His calm manner and his approachability made his peers and co-workers love and respect him. I spent many early mornings at work talking about the NFL and the Wpg Jets with Chris... Another memory reminds me of always comparing what gifts our kids recieved at the christmas party.....Chris, fantasy football is not going to be the same without you....Chris, I'll miss you. My prayers go out to your wife and two beautiful kids....Feb/21/09 was the day heaven recieved a respectable and outstanding angel! - Posted by: Giuseppe Russo (Co-Worker) on: Feb 24, 2009

Chris possessed a luminescence that came not only from his well-known kilowatt smile and sparking eyes, but also from a heart aflame with kindness and consideration. I recall when he wore a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers 25 years ago, he looked like Tom Cruise in "Risky Business." But Chris could never hide his star quality, behind sunglasses or by his quiet modesty. It shone brightly into the lives of those who knew and loved him. He will be sorely missed. Christopher Guly, Ottawa - Posted by: Christopher Guly (Friend) on: Feb 23, 2009
