ANNIE MYRTLE FOSTER Peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Third Crossing Manor, Gladstone, MB, Annie Foster passed away just shy of her 97th birthday. Mom was born Annie Myrtle McKinnon at Curtis Siding, MB on March 13, 1912. As a young child, Mom lived in a number of places in the Portage area finally settling in the Keyes community. After she finished her schooling she was a cook for her dad's construction company, going on to work for a number of families in the area. It was at one of these jobs that she met Dad, Byron Foster. Mom and Dad were married in 1935, initially living in Kelwood and moving back to Keyes in 1937. They farmed there until 1964 when they moved to Gladstone. Mom continued to participate and enjoy many organizations. She was a life member of the Gladstone United Church Women, Manitoba Health Auxiliary Association and Gladstone WI. She also belonged to the Woolie Wizards, her knitting group from 1964 until now, attending her last meeting last week. Just recently Mom moved into Third Crossing Manor, a move she was looking forward to and in her short time there, made many friends with the staff and residents. Mom enjoyed life. She loved to bake, garden, knit and sew, but her greatest passion was always her family and friends. Mom was always positive, cheerful and armed with a good story to share. Mom was predeceased by her husband Byron (B.J.); daughter Mollie; son Billie and a son in infancy. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Neil and Bill, and sisters, Florence and Dorothy. Left to cherish her memory are her son Ross (Joyce); daughter Coleen (George); grandchildren, Jim (Kathy), Don (Valerie), Valerie, Allen (Lori), Cecile (Richard), Lonni (Doug), Jason (Pam); great-grandchildren, Costa, Ethan, Avery, Alexander, Marika, Tyson, Tessa, Tanna and Gabrielle.
