FRANCES SCHMIDT (nee STEARNS) 1935 - 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Fran, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt on February 6, 2009, in Calgary. Remaining to forever cherish her memory are her beloved husband William of Calgary. Also her children Robert (Elsa), Allan, Carol (Wayne), Mark (Linda), grandchildren Cindy, Heather, Nicole, Justin, Daniel, Michael, Taylor. Great-grandchildren Rayna, Chloe, Brayden. Siblings Marie, Frank (Kathy), Kay (Richard), Albert (Darlene) and many nieces and nephews. Fran was born on May 24, 1935 in Erinferry, Sask. The family later moved to Winnipeg. Fran raised her four children in Winnipeg and later moved to Alberta, living first in Edmonton and finally in Calgary. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at Elmwood Mennonite Church, 145 Henderson Hwy. (downstairs). In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment to follow.
