DAVID OSWALD CHARLES KEDDIE January 2, 1937 - February 27, 2009 Peacefully on Friday, February 27 David (Bas) passed away at St. Boniface Hospital at 72 years of age. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Betsy, his son Greg, grandson Justin, daughter Alison (Jeff Bodner), and granddaughter Anna. David will also be sadly missed by his sister Diane (Harvey) Fleming, brother Andrew (Susan Berry), sister-in-law Ev Keddie, brother-in-law Frank (Shirley) Bird, sister-in-law Marnie (Dave Crumb), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. David was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Basil Keddie, brother Stephen Keddie, and in-laws Peggy and Frank Bird. David was born January 2, 1937 in Flin Flon, Manitoba. He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a B.A. and a B. of Education. He spent most of his teaching career at Aberdeen Junior High School. David was an avid golfer and enjoyed many memorable times with his golf buddies at the Wildewood Club. In later years he returned to stamp collecting. He was always a voracious reader, he particularly enjoyed Science Fiction and Science Fantasy books. David loved spending time with his family, particularly at Beaver Lake. The family would like to thank his friends who were so supportive during his illness. We would also like to thank the wonderful staff at the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital as well as his Palliative care nurse Monique. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Garry United Church, 800 Point Road.
