JOHN MICHAEL STOROZUK It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our father, grandfather and friend, John Storozuk on March 1, 2009. Dad was born to Paul and Julia Storozuk (nee Mayeschuk) January 15, 1933 in Moosejaw, SK. He was the younger brother of Michael John (they were named after their grandfather). At an early age, the family left Moosejaw and settled in Lockport, MB, where our grandparents ran two small businesses; a grocery store and a hotdog stand, which from an early age, Dad and his brother helped out with. Later on Dad met Mom (Joyce Ellis) and they married on July 18, 1953. Dad worked at Brown's Bread, until he went to work for the Manitoba Liquor Commission, retiring as a Manager after 34 years. He was predeceased by his wife Joyce and will be lovingly missed and remembered by his children Greg (Pat), Leslie (Brad) Kulchyski and grandchildren Nicole and Jenna, Kim (Dave), Tracy (Jed) Stuart and granddaughter Maddie. Mom and Dad enjoyed going to Grand Forks and Las Vegas with the gang from Lockport. We also enjoyed many family vacations to Detroit Lakes. Dad was a very generous and caring man, devoting many hours canvassing for the Canadian Cancer Society and donated to numerous other charities. In the later years Dad enjoyed attending the Selkirk Steelers games with his good friend Teddy. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Seven Oaks, Health Sciences, Dr. Zoppa and all the staff at Selkirk General Hospital. Thanks to Ted Geard for all the rides to doctor and hospital appointments. In keeping with our Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancercare Manitoba Foundations, 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 0R3. Forever in our hearts always in our thoughts Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
