BORDEN BIGGAR Peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Grace General Hospital, Borden went to be with his Lord and Saviour. Borden leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters Louise (John), Susan (Kevin) and Lynn (Alden), seven grandchildren Borden (Gwen), Leanne (Brian), Alanna (Kevin), Aldy, Amanda, Megan and Lisa, six great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Borden was predeceased by his wife Jeanette, two brothers and one sister. Dad volunteered to join the Navy at the early age of 17 and was proud to serve his Country on the H.M.S. Malaya. Upon returning home he married the love of his life, Jeanette, on June 5, 1948. Shortly after marriage Borden contracted Polio, was hospitalized and learned to live with the symptoms of the disease. He then went on to fulfill a career as a salesman that gained him many successes and long-term friends along the way. Borden's family meant everything to him and he cherished each and every one of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and had a special relationship with each one. He will be missed beyond what words can express. The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace General Hospital for the loving care given to dad. As per Borden's wishes a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Borden's name to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or CancerCare Manitoba.
