Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET MAXWELL (nee TEAGUE) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Maxwell on Sunday, March 1, 2009. Remaining to forever cherish Margaret's memory are her son Jim, his wife Janet, granddaughter Lindsay, grandson Stacy (Lynden) and her great-granddaughter Kyla; niece and God-daughter RoseAnn Lavery of Winnipeg; brother Frank (Winnie) Teague of Ventura, California; niece Elaine (Jim Bennett) and grand-nieces, Morgan and Tierney, all of Bend, Oregon; niece Lorraine Eckmeder of Big Bear, California. In Scotland she is survived by sister-in-law Ina Maxwell, sister-in-law Peggy McDonald, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Jimmy, as well as her sister, Rose Lavery. Mum was born in Springburn, Glasgow, Scotland on September 19, 1917. She spent her formative years in Scotland where she met, and married Jimmy Maxwell, the love of her life. Jimmy and Margaret, with their only son Jim, moved to Canada in 1957 to make a better life . Margaret found employment at the Galpern Candy Factory for a short period before joining the City of Winnipeg in the housekeeping department of the Municipal Hospitals, where in a few short years she moved up to a supervisory position and eventually to chief of housekeeping, retiring from that position in 1983. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 5 at 11:00 a.m. in the Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church, 254 Arnold Avenue at Osborne Street, with Rev. Fr. Boguslaw Wardzinski, presiding. A private family interment will be held following Mass. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. F. Salem for his care and kindness. We would also like to thank all the staff at Golden Links Lodge for their years of help and care giving. A particular thank you to Jacqueline Perrault, who was there from Mum's first day and guided her and the family through the final journey. She became a close friend to Mum, adopting her as a surrogate grandmother, as well as administering exceptional care over the last years of her life. I've wandered down by yon little babbling brook, where every ripple speaks of thee.
