VIOLET FARROW Peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2009 at the age of 93, at home with family by her side, Vi Farrow went home. Vi will be greatly missed by her son Don (Gail) Farrow of St. Clements; daughter Donna (Greg) of Kamloops, BC; her grandchildren, Adam (Michelle) Farrow of Lockport and Kelly (Jonathon) Bibisky of Beausjour and great-grandchildren, Kodi, Nicolas, Arlen and Jillian. Vi was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Anna Vickers; sisters, Bebe and Lil; and brother Al. Vi worked as an aide at Deer Lodge Hospital until she married Jack and was blessed with the arrival of their son Don and later Donna. She had many foster children that were fortunate enough to get a taste of a mother's love. She later worked at John M. King as a teacher's aide until she retired at the age of 66. Vi's love for children never faded. Even the few days before her death she managed to pucker up for a kiss from her great-grandsons. Vi was a lifetime member of the Army Navy 283 and was part of the ladies auxiliary for over 60 years. She loved helping her children and grandchildren with anything. Vi was always ready and willing to try anything that looked like fun which included cruising around the family farm on the quad at the age of 92 with her grandson. She had a contagious smile that would brighten up your day with just one look. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation, CE501 - 840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. with reception to follow at A.N.A.F. #283, 3584 Portage Ave. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
