He was predeceased by his parents Donald and Eileen, brother Duncan and sister Mo ra. He is survived by his cousin Yvonne Morier, aunts and uncles Christine and Terry Mackie, Joyce and William Henderson, and Donald and Molly Henderson. David was born on March 16, 1956. He was a gentle person who enjoyed his life and quietly and with dignity accepted his many health challenges. He was a lot of fun to be around. He had an irreverent sense of humour and a distinctly unique view of the world. David had many friends at the Society of Manitobans with Disabilities Wheelchair Services, where he volunteered for years. He was especially close to Lisa Birdsbill, who kept a special eye on him. A big sports fan, David loved to go to Moose and Bomber games with his buddy Daniel Chartier, after first having a bite to eat at the Confusion Corner Bar and Grill. David was very interested in animals, especially polar bears and horses. He also had a special place in his heart for Dolly Parton and was thrilled to see her in concert last fall. David recently returned from a trip to Disneyworld where he and Daniel had a lot of fun taking in the many attractions. The quality of David's life in the last few years was greatly enhanced by the staff at Maitland B. Steinkopf Residence, who enabled him to live a full and independent life. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7, at Neil Bardal Inc., 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery) at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Maitland B. Steinkopf Residence, Unit 9 213 St. Mary's Rd, Winnipeg, MB, R2H 1J2. Neil Bardal Inc. 204-949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
