CHRISTINA BIRD (nee STARR) (Wabishki-pinesii Ikwe) After a lengthy battle with cancer, Christina went home to be with her husband on March 2, 2009 at the Pine Falls Health Complex. She was predeceased by her husband William, in January of 1997; a son and a daughter; her parents, Jim and Flora Starr; three brothers, Doug, Cecil and Matthew; four sisters, Flora, Lucy, Eleanor and Bertha; three grandsons, Randle Jr., Kyle Stacey and Kyle Arthur; two great-granddaughters, Trisha Jones and Tiffany Abraham in 2009, two nieces and two nephews. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Billy (Vera), Joey (Alice), John (Wilma), David (Paula), Bertha (Keith), Brad (Susan), Randle (Susan), Dennis (Elaine), Elizabeth (Richard), Lawrence (Samantha), Eugene (Yvette) and three adopted children, Betsy, Lyn (Debbie), Brian (Dorothy); her brothers, John, James, Walter (Carol) and one sister Grace (John). Christina is also loved by her 58 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, all her numerous nephews nieces and relatives. Wake services began in the evening on Tuesday, March 3 at her residence. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Georges Anglican Church, Little Black River, MB. The family wishes to thank Lillian, Florence and Carol for their bedside vigil of our mother during her final days. The family also wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff at the Pine Falls Health Complex for their care of our mother.
