ROY LORN TKACHUK With family by his side, Roy Tkachuk passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 in the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 84 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Lola of Portage la Prairie; sons, Ron (Sherri) Tkachuk of Portage la Prairie and Gerald (Satvir) Tkachuk of Headingley; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; his sister Irene (Lloyd) Scarr of Portage la Prairie, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Matt and Rose and son Dennis. With viewing prior to the service, the funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel led by Rev. Deacon Michael Strilec. Interment is to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Roy's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, in care of Catherine Newham - Portage Office, 103 Wilkinson Crescent, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 1A7.
