LARA FLORENTINA RUTH BENSON January 25, 1917 - March 2, 2009 Ruth Benson was born in Selkirk, Manitoba, daughter of Flora Julius and Barney Benson. She was predeceased by her sister Norma Sigurdson of Vancouver and her brother Barney Benson of Edmonton. She worked for the Government of Canada for 49 years in every province, and with great pride. Diddy was cherished and will be missed by her nieces and nephews, Judith, Jon, Elin and Thora Sigurdson, and Peggy, Cathy, Liz and Louise Benson. Her Winnipeg family, Eric Sigurdson and his sons, particularly Kristian and Lars, cared for her and were loved by her. Diddy had an abiding positive regard for all she met. She nurtured her many relationships with love, care and a delightful wit. A service in her honour will be held at the First Lutheran Church, 580 Victor Street at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7.
