LUI (CHUNG KAY) LIM Peacefully on February 27, 2009 at Grace Hospital, Lui (Chung Kay) Lim passed away at the age of 86 years. Chung Kay was a compassionate woman and her beautiful smile will be remembered forever. Predeceased by her parents and husband Jack Lim, she lost her two brothers during the Second World War. Kay is survived by her sister Peggy Yee and family in the US; stepson George, wife Norma and three grandchildren in Texas, US. Born May 4, 1925 in Taishan, China, her family moved to Hong Kong when she was small moving back to Taishan during the Second World War. After the war, she returned to Hong Kong immigrating to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1964. Kay worked in the garment industry for many years in Hong Kong and Canada until she retired in 1988. Her hobbies were gardening, reading and watching Chinese movies. The family would like thank the wonderful staff at the Grace Hospital's 5th Floor for their kindness and exceptional care of the late Mrs. Lui Lim. Viewing will take place at Bardal Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg. Interment Brookside Cemetery. Flowers graciously declined. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Chinese United Church, 281 Pacific Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3B 0M7.
