Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE EVERETT PARKER George Everett Parker passed away peacefully at Calgary, AB, at the Beverly Centre Glenmore, Calgary, AB, on March 1, 2009 at the age of 93 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy; sons, James (Rena) of Winnipeg and Gary (Birthe) of Calgary; grandchildren, Leah and Kyle of Winnipeg; sister Lillian Clifton of Nelson, BC; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. George was predeceased by his parents, Caleb and Frances Parker; sisters, Margaret Dobson, Hazel (Dorothy) Sullivan, Evelyn Lang, Florence Tobiasson, Emily Parker and Agnes Parker; brothers Caleb, Vernon and Edward. George was born in Fort Macleod, AB. He joined the Canadian Army during the Second World War and while he was stationed in England, he met the love of his life, Dorothy. The couple was wed March 19, 1945. George loved baseball and hockey, the rodeo, walking, fishing, playing cards and travelling. He had a passion for Licorice All-Sorts and Dorothy's cooking, especially roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. He will be sadly missed. A Gathering will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2009 beginning at 2:00 pm at Mountain View Funeral Home with interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alzheimer's Society of Calgary (201, 222 - 58 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB, T2H 2S3).
