BRIAN WOLD After a brief illness, Brian Wold passed away on March 4, 2009 at the age of 60. Left to mourn his passing is his family he was so proud of, wife of 41 years, Joyce, son Trevor (Deanna), daughter Andrea (Jason), son Aaron (Kristin), grandchildren Jordan and Danica, mother Marjorie, stepfather Babe (Bonnie), and his many relatives in the Lac du Bonnet and Arcola, Saskatchewan Brian was born to Marjorie and Harry Wold in July of 1948. It was his high school years where he discovered his life long loves: motorcycles, his rock-band Brothers Grimm and his teenage sweetheart, Joyce Christiansen, whom he married on September 2, 1967. Brian's father died in 1964 when he was 16 years old and in 1969 Marjorie married Clarence (Babe) Marcelle. Over the years, Babe and Brian developed a very special mutual respect for each other and shared their love for SPEED. Friendly competition for the newest and fastest boat was an annual event and bragging rights carried on throughout the summer. The cottage was where Brian was happiest. There was always a cottage full of family, friends, kids, and dogs. Just dropping in unannounced was the norm; with open heart and open arms, Brian and his family made all feel welcome and important. In 1970, Brian and Joyce purchased Golden Boy Vending. He enjoyed his business most when he was out on the road meeting his customers all day long, and in no time at all the business became very successful. The highlight of Brian's career was being able to bring his sons, Trevor and Aaron into the business. Brian's daughter, Andrea, would also help out when needed. Viewing will be on Wednesday, March 11 for immediate family and close friends, between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12 at 7:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. Thank you to all of Brian's very close friends: his snowmobile, motorcycle and hockey buddies, his life long friends, his business associates and contacts; he truly cherished your friendships and support throughout his life. It did not go unrecognized and you were all very close to his heart. The family would like to thank the outstanding guidance and support at St. Boniface Hospital and CancerCare Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, donations may be made to the Humane Society. Please fill out an organ donor card, do a good deed or just hug someone you love.
