DONALD MATHIAS (MATT) SMITH On Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the Pine Falls Hospital, Pine Falls, Manitoba, Mathias Smith aged 73 of Manigotagan, Manitoba passed away. He is survived by son David, grandchildren Jordyn and Jackson, sister Rose Wood (Fred) and friends Arthur and Dianne, Franklin, Vera, Audrey, Ernie, Willard, Phillip and William, the Bushie family, Harvey, Les, Garf and Alex, and special friend Dana Boulette as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mathias was predeceased by his parents Collin and Catherine, sisters Muriel, Isabel, Annie, Christy, brothers Felix and Frank. He worked for the Department of Highways from 1980 to 1997. The family would like to thank the staff of the Pine Falls Hospital for their care and compassion shown to Mathias. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from Russell Funeral Home, Beausejour, Manitoba with Fr. Augustine and Fr. Malachy officiating. Friends may pay their respects one hour prior to service. Services will terminate at the Chapel with cremation to follow at a later date.
