HARLEY EVAN NELSON It is with heavy hearts that we announce the departure of Harley Nelson, beloved husband of Therese, who passed away peacefully at the Glenboro Hospital on March 8, 2009. Harley leaves behind his loving wife Therese, sons and daughters Loren (Janice) Nelson of Glenboro, Wayne Nelson of Glenboro, Celeste (Larry) West of Winnipeg, Roger (Grace) Nelson of Calgary, Dolores (Ron) Friesen of Winnipeg, Mark Nelson of Winnipeg, Marie Beatty of Winnipeg, Renee (John) Gray of Winnipeg, 13 grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. As well he leaves behind his sister Clarice Pospishel of Winnipeg. He will also be missed by his sister-in-law Georgette Major of Winnipeg, his brother-in-law Michel (Marien) Richard of Folly Beach, SC and many nieces and nephews. Harley was predeceased by his father Nels, his mother Christina and his brothers Evert and Loren. Harley was born on December 24, 1928 in Sprague, MB. Harley grew up in Sprague and farmed the family homestead. As well he worked for E. Holmgren Son Ltd. in Sprague. In 1969, Harley moved to Killarney, MB where he worked for Chapman Motors. Later he accepted the position of Body Shop Manager at Carter Motors in Winnipeg, MB. Always wanting to be a business owner, Harley moved to Glenboro, Manitoba in 1981 where he established H L Motors in partnership with his eldest son Loren. The business continues to this day. Married for nearly 59 years Harley was a dedicated family man who cherished his wife Therese and his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Harley was a strong and steady presence in the lives of his family teaching many life lessons. Harley was naturally quiet and shy, however had a great sense of humour. He had boundless energy and a work ethic that was second to none. Though he was 80 years old he was vital and active up until his recent illness, spending time capably working his sawmill on his land north of Glenboro, working at the family business, and most importantly spending quality time with his wife Therese, who lives in the Glenboro Personal Care Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Willmor Chapel, 415 Broadway St. Glenboro with Father Philip Malayil officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the chapel for those who wish to pay their respects. Interment will take place at the Glenboro Cemetery with a reception to follow at the C.E. Building. The family would like to extend appreciation to the staff of both the Brandon and Glenboro Hospitals.   • These things and many more come to mind, When we remember our dear Father. His friends tell us that he will be remembered forever, That they recall funny things he did, and words he said that make him memorable. Of course, his smile would tell everyone that he lived in joy and loved life, That he was thoughtful, and wise, and loving beyond our dreams. More so, in the hearts of his family is a forever lingering remembrance, Simply, that he was a very good father. This is all his loving family needs, To remember him well.
