Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEVE HORODECKI April 30, 1922 - February 22, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steve on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the age of 86 years. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. Steve was born in Poplarfield on April 30, 1922. In 1956 he moved to Winnipeg and was employed as a diesel mechanic. Eventually, his job as a diesel mechanic led him to many different locations in BC, such as Powell River, Queen Charlotte Islands and Jeune Landing. Upon retiring as a diesel mechanic, he moved to Oyster River on Vancouver Island and pursued his love of fishing by becoming a commercial fisher. Once Steve officially retired in 1990, his hobby of woodworking became his full time job, of which we all were the glad recipients of some beautiful pieces that he made. He is survived by his six children, Steve (Linda), Irene (Colin), Jeannette, Tommy, Frankie and Patricia; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Darcy), Gene (Michelle) and Jesse; five great grandchildren, Makinda, Sienna, Chiara, Amira and Mikael. We would like to give special thanks to Naomi Walter for all the love and support they gave Dad over the years and special thanks also to Palliative Care at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, BC for making Dad's final transition peaceful and painless. A service to celebrate Steve's life will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Glen Eden Funeral Chapel, 4477 Main St. Private interment will occur at a later date. We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice. GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 338-7111
