RENE PHILLIPPE JOSEPH MARCHILDON May 1, 1963 March 5, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of René Marchildon after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife Cynthia Tan; parents Luc and Jeannette (Halpin); brothers: George (Diane) and Gilles (Michelle); sisters: Laurette (Robert) Geurts and Micheline; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. René deeply loved Cynthia, Babes , his wife of 14 years. She was his best friend and companion. René had a passion for history. He worked as a tour guide at various museums. He loved music and participated in the St. Norbert Parish choir and promoted song as a group leader with the Scout Movement. In his youth, René was an avid long distance runner. René appreciated the simple things in life such as good food, board games, reading and hanging out with friends. He enjoyed visiting his mother to play cribbage or scrabble. He loved to recount his childhood experiences with the Scouts and his year spent in France with his family. René had a special bond with his Uncle Charles and Mémère Halpin with whom he is now reunited in heaven. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald St. On t'aime René! Scout toujours! Prêt!
