George was born on February 20, 1927 in Teulon, MB where he remained on the family farm for most of his life. George took great pride in raising cattle and farming the family homestead. Even in his later years, George kept busy on the farm with smaller chores, sawing wood and helping out with haying. He rented out his pasture land as he still enjoyed having cattle around. George loved to have company and he always had time for a cup of coffee and conversation. George enjoyed riding his quad, checking out the countryside or visiting his brother or friends, usually with his beloved dogs at his side. George lived on the farm until age 80, when he moved to Betel Home in Selkirk. The family would like to thank the Nurses and Staff of Betel Home for the compassionate care shown to George. George's girls were very special to him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Teulon, MB. Reception will follow the service at the Chapel. If friends so desire, donations in George's memory may be made to the Norris Lake Cemetery. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
