LOUIS ETIENNE CHAMPAGNE Passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 84 years of age. Beloved husband of Simone (nee Bonin); dear father of Louis (Lou) Wilfrid and his wife Mary. Grandfather of Laura and her husband Luke Vince and great-grandfather of Skyla Grace. Brother of Alcide (Isabel), Jules, David, Andre (Claudette), Helen Gagne (Roger), Paul (Laurette), Juliette Nelson (Brian). Fondly remembered by his large extended family and has been predeceased by his father Raphael and his mother Dorilla as well as siblings Herve, Marius, Sr. Therese, Sr. Cecile and Jean (Claudean). Originally from St. Norbert, Manitoba he moved to Montreal, Quebec in 1948 and has resided in Oakville, Ontario since 1967. His absence will be felt by many family, friends and neighbours. Louis enjoyed winemaking, amateur radio, hockey, skating and canoeing. His career with Royal Insurance culminated with position as vice-president prior to retirement. A funeral service will be held at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street Winnipeg, Manitoba on Monday, March 16 at 2:00 p.m. Interment Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
