Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA LOUISA MACKS EMISCH YOUNG On Tuesday, March 10, 2009 Anna passed away into the loving arms of Jesus with her sister, Margaret and staff by her side at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 83 years. Remaining to forever cherish Anna's memory are her children; Alice Scott and Randy Emisch both of BC; brother, Rudy (Dorothy) Macks of Calgary; sister, Margaret Buschau of Plumas; sisters-in-law: Edna Macks, Virginia (Jim) Mercer of Neepawa. stepchildren; Tim (Lynne) Young of Winnipeg, Sue (Danny) Killourhy, Phyllis (Bob) Bjorkstedt, Bob (Pat) Young and Gail Potts (deceased husband, Roger) all of the US. Anne is also survived by cousins in the US, numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren in Canada and the US. She was predeceased by Bill several years ago; she remained a resident until her health deteriorated quickly the first week of March, as well as by parents, Mary and Adolf Macks, sister, Emma Sollner and husband Joe, brothers: Alfred Macks, Rheinhardt Macks, Sigmund Macks and wife Roma and brother-in-law, Harold Buschau. Anne was born June 27, 1925 in the Plumas, Manitoba area, where she was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church. She later married Henry Otto Emisch and they had two children, Alice and Randy. Life changed and she moved to Winnipeg where she worked at various jobs including the Winnipeg International Airport. Anne enjoyed various hobbies and entertainment including dancing. There she met a wonderful man, William Young and they later married and shared many wonderful years together. During this time she suffered a serious stroke. Through all of this she remained at home with Bill. When his health failed, he spent his final year and a half at Riverview where Anne joined him. Anne was visited by family as well as church members - Peter and Phyllis Dueck, Deb Bombach and Pastor Fritsche of Beautiful Saviour Lutheran Church. Anna's funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 17 at 1:00 p.m. in the Riverview Health Centre Chapel, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, with Chaplain Adam Lowe, presider. Lunch will follow also in Robert Sill Auditorium. Graveside prayers and interment will immediately follow after at approximately 5:30 p.m. in Plumas Cemetery with Pastor Klein of Zion Lutheran Church, Plumas presider. On March 12 at 10:00 a.m. Chaplain Lowe held a Service of Remembrance for Anne and Consecration of her Room at Riverview, attended by family, nursing students and staff. On behalf of Anne and Bill Young, the families would like to thank the Riverview Health Centre for providing such a beautiful facility for the care of their residents. Words cannot express the gratitude due each and every one of the care givers and staff of Riverview who over the years provided such professional, loving care and assistance to Bill and especially Anne. They gave meaning to their lives. As Anne was passing away, so many staff came by and expressed their love of her with hugs, kisses and compassionate words to her along with words of Christian faith. The staff showed so much interest, concern and respect for her as a person and resident and they are to be highly commended and thanked. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or one's choice.
