He met and married Edna in 1939 and lived on the farm for their 62 years of marriage. The centre of Vic's life was his strong faith in God, his family and friends and his farming. Throughout his life, Vic enjoyed bowling, scrabble, playing games, gardening and fishing. He regularly attended St. James Gospel Chapel every week and cherished the friends he made in that community, as well as his Bible study friends in Woodlands. Vic always had a way with words; he had a great sense of humour, was a great story-teller and enjoyed his visits with his many friends and family members. His example of faith will continue to live on in all who knew him. Friends may call to pay their respects on Sunday, March 15 at 7:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Graveside service will take place Monday, March 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Meadow Lea Cemetery, followed by a memorial service to celebrate Vic's life at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Laurie Barth will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. James Gospel Chapel, 337 Inglewood Street, Winnipeg, MB R3J 1X1 or the Southwest District Palliative Care, Box 1282 Stonewall, MB R0C 2Z0. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
