Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY LUZNY Wednesday morning, March 11, 2009, Mary Luzny, beloved friend and colleague slipped away from earth and went to meet her Lord and Saviour whom she had loved and served for many years. Mary was born in East Selkirk, August 21, 1940 to Wasyl and Eva Luzny. She grew up and received her education in East Selkirk, also attending the University of Manitoba. Mary began working with the Manitoba Telephone System, this was a career that lasted over 37 years. She began first as an operator, moving up the ranks to supervisor and into other departments until her retirement in 1995. After her retirement, she continued to work in various places: Sangsters, Weigh n Save and lastly the MTS Connect Store. One of her most daring and challenging tasks was the subdivision of her farm land. She divided and sold her development in three phases. She started in 1989, each phase taking five years to complete, keeping the home yard for her own. In 1981 she began fellowshipping at New Life Community Church, she has stayed all these years serving God with the church family here. Although Mary had no other family in Canada, her family was her friends at church and her colleagues at work. Mary enjoyed the ministry of Kenneth Copeland and made trips to his conventions in the United States with her friends from Selkirk. Mary was an avid reader with an extensive library and an amazing memory as to what was in each book. Mary was an encourager, drawing knowledge and wisdom from the Word and her extensive reading. Scores of us have been the recipients of her uplifting words. Mary was a person of prayer; if she told you she was praying for you, trust me she was. She will be greatly missed, her encouraging words and the fun times shared will be forever remembered. Mary was predeceased by her brother John, and her Dad and Mom - Wasyl and Eva Luzny. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and adopted family. Viewing will take place on Sunday, March 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Springs Church, 479 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB. A celebration of her life will take place on Monday, March 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Springs Church, 479 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB. Pastors Leon and Jacquie Fontaine officiating.
