FLORIS WEISS (VAN RAES) (nee FERGUSON) Peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at St. Joseph's Health Centre in Toronto. Dearly beloved wife of Bertram Weiss and the late Emile Van Raes. Loving mother of Marilyn Van Dam (Jake) and David Van Raes (Ginette) and stepmother of Pamela Van Raes (Alan Riemer) and Cheryl Noonan (Gerard). Grandma will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and by her numerous nieces and nephews. Floris was born and raised in the Peterborough area of Ontario but moved to Winnipeg and spent many happy years working at Zellers and in real estate. Summers were spent relaxing at Falcon Lake and Star Lake and winters enjoying the sun in Arizona. She made many dear friends through her work and time spent at the lake and in Arizona before moving back home to Peterborough. A Celebration of Life was held at St. James United Church in Peterborough on March 3, 2009. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Floris, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
