Date of Passing: Mar 08, 2009
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUDGE RONALD JOSEPH MORLOCK (Retired) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Morlock, aged 79, on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Victoria General Hospital with his family by his side, after valiantly battling brain cancer. Ron's memory will be cherished by Dorothy, his beloved wife of 56 years; daughter Leslie and son-in-law Duncan MacMillan; brother Barry; nieces, Margaret and Pamela, many cousins and long-time friends. He was predeceased by his father Joseph and mother Rose. Ron worked in sales for a number of years, and returned to University of Manitoba to earn his Law Degree, graduating in 1965. He practiced law, and later became a Judge for the Province of Manitoba, which he enjoyed until his retirement. As a teenager, Ron loved playing hockey, especially for the Brandon Wheat Kings. As an adult he played baseball, golf and bowled. He was also an avid bridge player. During his retirement he looked forward to the challenge of daily crossword puzzles, and spent time watching various sports. Ron and Dorothy had wonderful memories of times spent with friends and family members at home in Winnipeg, and in Florida, California, Arizona, Maui and Victoria, BC. Cremation has taken place and no service will be held. The family would like to thank Dr. Sheldon Permack and Sandy, the staff at Emergency and 4th floor North at Victoria General Hospital, ambulance paramedics, Jocelyn House staff, volunteers, residents (and their families) who welcomed us with open arms and hearts, and made Ron's stay there a very comfortable and memorable one. Thanks to family, friends and neighbours for their visits and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations would be greatly appreciated to Jocelyn House, 177 Egerton Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 2W7.
