Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBENA MARKO Peacefully at the St. Joseph's Residence in Winnipeg on March 13, 2009, Bena Marko, aged 96 years, of Winnipeg and formerly of Poplar Park, MB. Bena was born in Poplar Park, on March 13th, 1913, and lived and farmed there until moving to Winnipeg, in 1958. She enjoyed baking, gardening, knitting and crocheting and had made afghans for all her family. She loved working in the catering business and had worked as the head table server at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. She was an independent lady who loved to travel and enjoyed many trips, including Europe, Hawaii, and San Francisco with her husband Michael, daughter Gloria, and son-in-law Kenny. Her family was always her number one priority and they will all treasure her memory. She was predeceased be her husband Michael, son Terrence, sister Mary Boychuk, and son-in-law Kenny Ingram; brothers Nick, Walter and John. She is survived by her three loving daughters Marlene Marko, Gloria Ingram and Elaine Buergel; sisters Nellie Myslawchuk and Anne Kostenuk; grandchildren Dwayne (Andrea), Todd, Troy (Tracy) and Nicole (Carmen); and great-grandchildren Taryn, Taylor, Evan, Jayden and Briana. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 17th, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Fr. Richard Ehrmantraut officiating. A private family interment will follow the luncheon. Pallbearers will be Dwayne, Todd and Troy Michaels, Randy Kostenuk, Harold Myslawchuk and Lawrence Mollish. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
