DOREEN E. McKANE August 15, 1922 - March 13, 2009 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Doreen McKane on Friday, March 13, 2009. Born in Moygashel, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, she married Harry McKane on March 12, 1947. Upon immigrating to Canada in 1948, Doreen resided in Winnipeg, MB for 50 years before relocating to Calgary to be closer to her family. An avid bowler, Doreen was also an accomplished knitter, loved animals and loved to bake. Predeceased by her husband Harry in 1986, Doreen is survived by her daughters, Hazel (Tony) Williams of Delta, BC, and Margaret (Gary Cook) McKane of Calgary; as well as grandchildren, Rob Williams of Waterloo, ON and Sarah Williams and Allison Cook, both of Calgary. She is also survived by her brother George (Peggy) Belshaw of Northern Ireland; sister Sarah Murray of Brandon, MB; and many nieces and nephews. At Doreen's request no memorial service will be held.
