WALBURGA HOLZMUELLER Walburga Holzmueller, born March 25, 1932 in Kempten, Germany, passed away at home March 12, 2009. Walli was the youngest of eight children born to Therese and Josef Holzmueller, and grew up with six sisters and one brother. She completed her education and worked in Germany until the mid-1960s, when she immigrated to Canada, joining her sister Hildegard and husband Walter Bohl in Winnipeg. Within a few years she began work at the Health Sciences Centre, where she remained for 25 years, receiving a long service award in 1993. After her retirement, Walli purchased a condo in south St. James. She enjoyed daily walks in the neighbourhood, shopping downtown and at Polo Park, and the occasional trip to Germany or the west coast. Walli is survived by two sisters, Erna and Gunda in Germany; two nieces, Evelin Anderson and Lorraine Wilks of Winnipeg, and numerous nieces and nephews in Europe and Australia. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial is planned.
