DELIA MARIE ALLARD (nee Flamand) 1912 - 2009 It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother Delia Marie Allard of St. Laurent, MB on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the age of 96 years. She was predeceased by her husband Lionel Allard on January 18, 2005, a son Robert, her parents Colin and Celeste Flamand, brothers Leo and Norman, sisters Alice Flamand, Emma Gaudry, Esther Halek and Marie Lafreniere. Survived by 10 children Adrien (Laurette), Marina (Joseph), Velma, Greta (Georges), Leona (Edward), Camelia (George), Zita (Ron), Lionel Jr., Rose-Anna (Edgar) and Gracia; 32 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 27 great-great-grandchildren, a sister Jeanne Rolly, sister-in-law Genevieve Flamand, brother-in-law Alfred Allard (Velma). Mom was a gentle, kind, loving person who dedicated her whole life to her family and extended families. She always made sure there was enough food to feed everybody and that everyone had a place to sleep. A pot of soup was always waiting on the stove to be eaten at whatever time someone was hungry. Mom was a fun loving person. She enjoyed music, especially listening to the family singing and playing guitar. She loved to sit on her deck enjoying her flowers and listening to birds singing. Playing cards was her passion, especially beating her sons-in-law in Charlemine. Mom was a very spiritual person who always believed in the goodness of people and never gave up on anyone. We would many times find her reciting the rosary. Saying the rosary was part of her daily routine. One of her last requests was for us to pray a lot. Our family would like to extend our deepest thanks to the attentive and loving care Mom received from the nurses and staff of Foyer Valade 3rd floor, especially Arnel. A special thank you to our niece Lorelei Halek for her daily visits, and also to cousin Leonide Flamand for his kindness and care of our dear Mother. Viewing and prayers will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral mass service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Eugene Allard and Leonide Flamand. Pallbearers are her grandsons Jason Thiessen, Norbert Ducharme, Rodney Lamirande, Raymond Champagne, Lyle Allard, Randy Ducharme, Rene Coutu Jr., Glen Allard, Lisa Plett and Lorelei Halek. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church Parish of St. Laurent, MB. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements
