ZEPHIRINE (ARPIN) L'HEUREUX October 5, 1910 - March 13, 2009 Peacefully, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Mom, Mémère passed away after a short illness. Mom will be dearly missed by her children Aurèle (Beatrice), Hélène Tétrault (Maurice Catellier), Georges (Yvonne) and Lucienne (Ernest Côté) as well as her 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one stepgranddaughter. She also leaves to mourn her passing, her sister Reine Lambert. Mom was predeceased by her husband David, her sons Lucien and Fernand, her daughter Alice Lapointe and her grandson Jacques and her sons-in-law Robert Tétrault and Raymond Lapointe. She was also predeceased by her parents Joseph and Anna Arpin, four brothers and two sisters. Mom, Mémère, Grand-Mémère was a loving and giving soul. She lived for her family and always said that her descendants were her crowning glory... her purpose for living. As a young woman she worked for various families to help out the mothers and their new babies. She was very proud of her huge gardens which yielded bumper crops enough to share with family and neighbours. In later years, she also worked at the sewing factory. During her 34 years at the Chalet Malouin, Mom always gave of herself. In the first years she and her sister, Denise, would keep the public areas clean and tidy. Later she baked an untold number of tourtières and pies for bake sales to raise funds for the chapel. Once the chapel was equipped, she prepared the Altar for the services and served at mass for 15 years. Her passion was crocheting and knitting baby clothing, toques, mitts, socks, afghans, etc. so that she could ensure that no one was cold. A hobby she enjoyed to the day she entered the hospital. Extra special thanks go to Jeanne, Alice and Norman for all the attention and services they gave Mémère over the years. Their devotion to Mémère during her hospital stay was overwhelming. The special attention and care Claire offered in the hospital is also greatly appreciated. Special thanks also go the staff at Chalet Malouin for the years of friendship and support they offered Mom. Special thanks also go to the doctors and staff at the Bethesda Hospital and at the South Eastman Palliative Care and Service for the special care and attention that was given to Mom/Mémère during her stay. The support and information provided to the family was very beneficial and appreciated. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 19, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., at the Roman Catholic Church in St. Malo, Manitoba. The service will be preceded by prayers at 10:30 a.m. Interment of cremated remains will take place in the St. Pierre Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Flowers are graciously declined. Friends are invited to make donations to the South Eastman Palliative Care Services, P.O.
