HARRY O. KOZYRA It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Harry Kozyra while wintering in Mission, Texas. Harry was predeceased by his mother and father, Stella and Tony Kozyra and his sister Helen Andrews. Harry is survived by his wife Betty, of 58 years; his brother Ed Kozyra; son Bob and wife Donna, children, Jason, Jaclyn and Jaimie; daughter, Jodie (Heaman) and husband Spence, children, Chris, Daryl and Melissa; daughter Laurie (Scarfe) and husband Bill, children, Tyler and Colin; daughter Nancy (Hadden) and son Daniel and great-grandchild Skylar and numerous relatives and friends. Harry was born in Winnipeg. He joined Canada Packers in 1947 and was transferred to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan as a salesman where he met and married his wife Betty and had his family. He moved back to Winnipeg in 1962 where he continued to work for Canada Packers in the cooked meat department until 1981 when he was appointed Area Manager of Winnipeg Poultry Division of Canada Packers. He remained working there until the plant closure and he retired in March 1989. Harry was an ardent hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his children and grandchildren. Harry and Betty had the opportunity to spend 20 wonderful years of retirement together, travelling worldwide and their favourite spot being their home away from home, Sleepy Valley Ranch in Mission, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint).
