SANTIANO March 5, 1927 - March 16, 2009 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Monday, March 16, 2009 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 82 years. Predeceased by his parents, Tiburcio and Juana, daughter Dometila Dayrit, sister Cesaria, brother Antonio. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 63 years Elena; children, Dolor (Ben) Vitug, Dan (Josie) Santiano, Divina (Ely) Mallari, Dem (Ronnie) Argamino, Daisy (Rod) Villegas, Dalisay (Boyet) Hererra, Deo (Carol) Santiano, Diana (Bot) San Sebastian, Demetria (Glen) Dela Cruz; a brother Batling Santiano of the Philippines; his nephews Paul Santiano of Indiana, US and Domingo Santiano of Winnipeg, who provided their love and support until he joined our Heavenly Father. Grandchildren, Armie (Monet), Alex, Arnold (Jennifer), Virgie, Cocoy (Marivic), Vernon (Ruth), Via, Tyron, Terence (Raquel), Michelle, Hazel, Elvin, Maryriel, Michaella, Raphael, Abigail, Ashley, Shellisa, Maria, Kathlyn, Jared and Christian. Great-grandchildren from the Philippines, Calgary, Winnipeg, San Francisco and UK. Jose was born and raised in the Philippines and immigrated to Winnipeg in 1981. He worked at Beaver Lumber until his retirement in 1992. He loved jogging and gardening. He was instrumental in getting all of his 22 grandchildren to learn the Lord's Prayer and singing Kapangpangan folk songs before they were two years old. He especially enjoyed spending time with his close circle of friends at Garden City Mall. The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital; WRHA for home care services and support; Dr. P.G. Mehta (family doctor), Monsignor Enrique Samson Jr. and St. Peter's Church. Lamay to be held at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. on Thursday, March 19 and Friday March 20 commencing at 6:00 p.m. and concluding at the request of the family. Recital of the Rosary will be held on Thursday evening at 8:00 p.m. and Vigil Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening at Mosaic Funeral Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin Street. Monsignor Enrique Samson Celebrant. Interment at Glen Eden Cemetery, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul MB. Reception to follow at Mosaic's Reception Centre immediately following the interment.
