MICHAEL BOBKO Peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2009, Michael Bobko passed away at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 91 years of age. Michael was predeceased by his wife Mary in 1998 and by a daughter. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his children: Joseph (Stella), Anne (Len) Wiebe, Irene (Brian) Babiuk, Mike (Pat) and Veronica (Dave) Andersson. Gigi also leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren: Brian (Kerry), Penny (Randy), Lori (Chris), Stephen (Monique), Michael (Colleen), Lea (Marc), Lindsay and Eric and great-grandchildren Alexander, Matthew, Carter, Tyson and two on the way. Michael was born September 27, 1917 in the Ukraine and immigrated to Canada with his wife and son in 1950. They lived on a farm on Main Street until moving to Elmwood in 1956 where they raised their family. Michael was a bricklayer by trade and worked for CN Rail for 33 years retiring in 1982. Michael and Mary enjoyed many summers at their cabin at Lester Beach. Dad loved going hunting for mushrooms and blueberry picking. Dad's generosity and sense of humour will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home on Friday, March 20, 2009. Viewing will be held one-half hour prior to the service. A private family interment at Green Acres will follow the service. Michael's family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of A6 at St. Boniface Hospital for the loving care given Dad and his family.
