VINCENT JACKSON December 13, 1927 - March 16, 2009 Of Selkirk, MB passed peacefully in his sleep after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Vincent is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gladys (Taylor), sons Glen (Jody), Gary (Sue), Vern (Linda), Jeff and Blair, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn his passing are sisters Jean, RoseAnn, brother Ed (Pauline), aunts Lily (Selkirk) and Sophie (Cook's Creek), as well as dozens of cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Lindenschmidt, Dr. Demsas, Teresa Hnatiuk (Palliative Care) and all the nursing staff at Selkirk Hospital for the exceptional care our husband/father received during his final months. Special thanks to cousins Louise and Geraldine for their frequent visits, emotional support and prayers and, thank you Father Jerry Talarski. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Vincent's life will be officiated by Father Steven Sharman at 2:00 p.m., Friday March 20, at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #42, 403 Eveline Street, Selkirk MB. In lieu of flowers, donations to Palliative Care would be greatly appreciated.
