LIONEL HUPE It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Lionel Hupé at home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the age of 80 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He is predeceased by his daughter Maria; his parents, Edmond and Josette (Plouffe); his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donat Proulx and Marie-Jeanne (Lussier); his sister Marguerite; brother-in-law Marcien; and sister-in-law Claudette. He is survived by his loving wife Hélène (Proulx); his children, Raymond (Jocelyne), Léa (Raymond), Claude, Guy (Carol), Claudette (Danny), Ulysse, Jacqueline (Ben), Pauline (Louis), Monique (Perry) and his niece Jeanne; his grandchildren, Sheila, Roger, Richard, Marie-Josée, Eric, Natalie, Mélanie, Stéphanie, Glen, Melissa, Jennifer, Samantha, Noëlle, Lydia, Joëlle, Rémi, Adam, Jesslyn, Emanuel, André, Angèle, Danielle, Ava; his great-grandchildren, Ryley, Kamie, Emilie, Janelle, Hélène and Myah; his brothers, Marcel (Aurore), Denis, Florent (Thérèse) and Fernand (Juliette); and his sister Edmonde (Louis); his brother-in-law Léo (Dorothy) and sister-in-law Louise (David) and numerous nieces and nephews. Lionel was born September 6, 1928 and lived most of his life in La Coulée with Hélène where they raised their family. Lionel and Hélène enjoyed 58 years of married life. His family was his pride and joy. He enjoyed the outdoors and was most happy when he was surrounded by his family, working in his big garden, with his horses and his pets, Patches and Chico. The family would like to give special thanks to the Palliative Care givers, the Health Care Aides, Dr. Duval, Dr. de Moissac, Soeur Irène Rioux and to his brother, Denis, for his unwavering support. In memory of Lionel, donations may be made to the Ste-Anne Parish for the church's bells. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church. The service will be preceded by a tribute to Lionel at 1:30 p.m. Ash interment will be held at a later date.
