CARRIE LINDSAY (nee SMOLAK) Carrie Lindsay passed away in her sleep on March 10, 2009 at Beacon Hill Lodge. Carrie was predeceased by her Dad and Mum, John and Frances Smolak, brother Edward Smolak, sister Millie Marshall, sister Leona Beggs, nephew Edward Smolak Jr. and granddaughter Sharon Lowe. Carrie leaves to cherish her memory her children, Bruce Lindsay (Mary), John Lindsay (Carmen) and Jan Lowe. Carrie will be missed by her sister Kit Harack (Michael) and her nieces and nephews, Brian, Susan, Gail and Tom and friend, Mary Havelock. We all admired her feisty spirit and will miss the fun times we shared. Carrie's love for her children may only be surpassed by her love for and her pride in her grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, George and Melissa. Carrie worked at Earl Grey School for many years as a teacher's aide. Carrie loved children and they loved her. In her eyes, children were perfect little beings to be cherished. We wish to recognize the staff of Beacon Hill Lodge for their patience, kindness and the care they gave our Mum. They became Family for Mum and for us. Cremation has taken place and a family service will be held at Royal Lake. Times spent at Royal Lake were special to Mum. Her famous dance of the seven veils , performed in front of the fireplace at the lake will always bring a smile to our faces. Flowers are gratefully declined. A donation to Ronald Macdonald House in Carrie's name would be appreciated. The lake is like glass and the loons are calling, Mum. We will miss you.
