BERTHA D. SCHWARK August 1, 1913 March 18, 2009 With deepest sorrow, we announce the death of Bertha D. (Walters) Schwark in Morris on Wednesday March 18, 2009. Memories of her will be cherished by her son Wayne, daughter-in-law Donna, grandchildren Dwight (Alodia) Schwark and Lisa (Steve) Skrubis and great-grandchildren, Steven and Victoria Schwark and Chase and Kara Skrubis. Also surviving are her sister Anne Sylvester and sisters-in-law Alma Walters and Sophie Schwark. The eldest daughter of Emil and Ida Walters, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years, William, in 1983, her parents and her siblings Ted, Bill, Paul, Arthur, Alma, and Stanley. As a young wife and mother, Mom was extremely hard working and devoted to her family. A talented homemaker, who enjoyed gardening and sewing, she was actively involved in her church and in the Ridgeville community. After leaving the farm in 1966, she was a caring friend to her neighbours in Minnedosa, Winnipeg, and Morris. She will be missed. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Red River Valley Lodge, Mom's home since 2005, for their compassionate and loving care, Dr. Fraser for his guidance during Mom's declining years, and to her kind friends Ida, Joan, Emily, and Grace. Those so wishing may make donations in Mom's memory to the Friedensthal Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
